Knitmus ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Knitmus mobile application and website.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

• Body measurements and knitting gauge — Used to generate custom knitting patterns fitted to you. Stored locally on your device and optionally on our servers linked to your device ID.
• Photos you upload — Sweater photos are sent to our AI service to analyse design elements. Photos are processed in real time and are not permanently stored on our servers.
• Email address — If you sign up for our waitlist, we collect your email solely to notify you when the app launches.

Information collected automatically:

• Device identifier — A randomly generated ID stored on your device, used to associate your saved patterns and measurements. This is not linked to your Apple ID, Google account, or personal identity.
• Region preference — Your chosen language/region (Norwegian, UK English, or US English) for pattern generation.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To generate custom knitting patterns based on your measurements and preferences
• To save your patterns and measurements so you can access them later
• To process in-app purchases and subscriptions
• To send launch notifications if you joined our waitlist
• To improve the app and fix issues

3. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

Knitmus offers in-app purchases through Apple's App Store and Google Play. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple and Google — we do not collect, store, or have access to your payment card details.

Subscription management, including cancellation and refund requests, is handled through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device's account settings.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data with:

• AI processing services — Your uploaded photos and design preferences are sent to OpenAI for pattern analysis. These are processed according to OpenAI's privacy policy.
• Payment processors — Apple and Google handle all payment transactions.
• RevenueCat — Manages subscription status using anonymous device identifiers. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by our database provider. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. Pattern data and measurements are associated with an anonymous device ID, not with your personal identity.

6. Data Retention

Your saved patterns and measurements are retained as long as you use the app. Waitlist emails are retained until the app launches and notification is sent, after which they are deleted. You can delete your saved patterns at any time from within the app.

7. Children's Privacy

Knitmus is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your data
• Delete your saved patterns and measurements through the app
• Opt out of waitlist communications

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
